We think this elegant lamp base is divine. It is crafted from recycled glass by skilled artisans in Rajasthan. The hammered effect is created by hand when the glass is molten giving a beautiful textured and imperfect finish. Style with our Dia Jute Lampshades (sold separately).Small wide lamp is pictured with the small size Dia Jute Lampshade.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Nkuku Baba recycled glass lamp for its understated elegance and versatility. Its clear glass body creates a clean and contemporary look, making it easy to incorporate into a variety of interiors-from minimalist schemes to more eclectic spaces. It works particularly well on side tables, consoles, or desktops, adding a soft, ambient glow without overwhelming the surrounding décor. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with warm-toned shades to create cosy atmospheres, or keep it neutral for a modern, airy vibe. Because of its size, it’s ideal for smaller spaces or as a supplementary light source, offering a practical yet attractive finishing touch to any room.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
