Description

We think this elegant lamp base is divine. It is crafted from recycled glass by skilled artisans in Rajasthan. The hammered effect is created by hand when the glass is molten giving a beautiful textured and imperfect finish. Style with our Dia Jute Lampshades (sold separately).Small tall lamp is pictured with the medium sized Dia Jute Lampshade.

Our Stylist Says

I love this small tall Nkuku Baba recycled glass lamp for its clean, minimalist look and sustainable appeal. Its clear glass finish makes it incredibly versatile, working well in both contemporary and rustic interiors, such as modern scandi or coastal styles. Placing it on a wooden sideboard or a bedside table can instantly add warmth and subtle elegance. Practical styling tips include pairing it with neutral or textured shades and complementing it with potted greenery, as seen in the image, to create a calm, inviting space. Its size is ideal for smaller surfaces or use as a statement piece in a corner without overwhelming the room.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
