A raw, industrial style for this workshop stool with its vintage accents. It has a thick solid wooden seat, made from a length of old wood which is then waxed: each item is unique. The Nikita stool showcases wood in its raw state: the defects which are generally glossed over here are highlighted and shown off. Directly cut wood retains its fine grain. As the seat is made by hand using a natural material, there may be variations in colour or more or less significant irregularities: that’s what creates the charm of this authentic piece of furniture. The knots and irregular contours of the seat are the ingredients of a primitive aesthetic that draws a link between present and past. The asymmetrical base consists of twisted steel rods, usually used as a structure for pouring reinforced concrete. It’s a material with a very raw, industrial aesthetic. Zeus furniture is made by skilled craftsmen in Italy, near Modena. Each piece is made by hand: the metal is cut, assembled, welded and painted by hand. Each item is unique. Steel is a recyclable material and any metal scrap not used during manufacturing is recycled for re-use. Zeus furniture is built to last: highly durable, this furniture can be handed down from generation to generation.
