Description

Originally design by George Nelson in 1946, the Nelson Platform Bench was reintroduced in 1994 and would lend a design edge to any space. Equally suited to use as a coffee table, sideboard, bench and display unit, the bench's top is crafted from strips of natural ash resting on a stained black ash base. Beautifully streamlined, the elegant bench reflects Nelson's architectural background. Having studied architecture in Rome, he enjoyed careers as a teacher, writer and editor before venturing into the world of design.

Our Stylist Says

I love this bench for its minimalist, modern appeal - its clean lines and natural timber finish make it versatile across various interiors. It works particularly well in contemporary spaces, entryways, or even as additional seating in a dining or living area. To style it effectively, consider layering with cushions or throws for a more casual look, or pair it with a statement plant or decorative objects on top for a more curated feel. Its practical, straightforward design makes it easy to incorporate in both functional and aesthetic ways, while the neutral palette ensures it complements a wide range of colour schemes and furniture styles.
