I’m quite taken with this little black flush-mount - it’s simple but has just enough detail in that wire-style shade to lift a plain ceiling without overwhelming a room. It works brilliantly in contemporary and transitional interiors, from snug hallways and cloakrooms to bedrooms with low ceilings. For styling, fit a warm-white LED bulb to keep the light soft, and echo the black metal in picture frames or a slim-legged side table. If you’re working with mixed metals elsewhere, a couple of small black accessories will tie everything together neatly.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.

A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
