I’m a fan of this modern bookcase for its clean lines and versatile two-tone finish - the natural-effect oak and dark grey doors feel both contemporary and warm. It works brilliantly in Scandi, mid-century or minimalist schemes, slipping easily into a home office, living room or hallway.
Styling tip: balance open shelves with neat concealed storage by using the cupboards for papers or tech clutter. On open cubbies, group books with the spines in alternating directions, add a couple of low-profile plants and mix in a decorative object or two. Use baskets or boxes on the lower shelves for extra organisation, and leave a little breathing space around each vignette to keep the look crisp.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores".
