Description
An unusual visual effect for this exceptional item, the result of a remarkable piece of work using shape, volume and material. Taking the majestic silhouette of chandeliers of old, this XXL pendant presents a sublime cascade of transparency. The Dutch designer Rick Tegelaar transforms mesh, a modest and ordinary material, into a precious creation, dreamlike and fleeting. The designer has specially developed a machine to stretch and shape steel mesh. The lampshade consists of three domes of different layered sizes. The ethereal volumes intertwine, giving birth to a large openwork structure that’s incredibly balanced. The intertwined galvanised steel wires form beautiful, repeating geometric patterns. The light filters through the multitude of metal wires, producing a beautiful luminescence that plays with light and shadow. This remarkable piece will dress beautiful high ceilings with panache! The LED light source is integrated into the brass dome in the centre of the pendant (at the bottom).
