I’m a big fan of this chunky open shelving unit because its mix of warm oak-effect boards and slim black frame works equally well in industrial, Scandi and contemporary homes. It’s tall enough to make a feature of books and ceramics without overwhelming a room, and the open sides keep the look light.
For styling, group objects in threes or fives and vary heights - stack a couple of art books horizontally, then add a small plant or candle on top. Use woven baskets on the bottom shelf to hide cables or odds and ends, and leave at least one shelf partly empty to avoid a cluttered feel. Anchor it securely to the wall for safety.
