Description
Habits change, new needs emerge, the ability to adapt becomes a necessity. That’s why designer Lapo Ciatti designed this versatile desk that has all the elegance of a table. A transversal solution that adapts to multiple contexts: workstation, dining area, shared space. A roller placed under one of the legs means it can be easily moved: at home to mark the end of the working day and the start of the personal day, in offices, schools, professional studios, co-working spaces, wherever it’s necessary to rethink the geometry of rooms and physical distances. With a clean, refined design - a thin steel structure topped off by a thin wooden top - Macis fits nicely into all types of environments thanks to its discreet presence. Macis is a table that moves, extends and transforms. Various optional accessories (sold separately) allow additional functionality. Macis can be fitted with a set of 2 extensions (L 35 cm each) which make it extendable when projects and ideas need more inches to share. The Macis desk goes from a length of 130 cm to a length of 200 cm. When not in use, the extensions fold away over the sides of the desk. A drawer can be placed under the top (to right or left) to keep everything tidy. A circular brown cork panel lets you pin up reminders, notes and photos while providing visual separation. The Macis desk can be fitted with a rectangular black aluminium cable duct. The Macis desk has been selected for the ADI Design Index 2021 and is also competing for the Compasso d'Oro 2022.
