'Garden Roses with Philadelphus and Aquilegia', a colourful floral still life by artist Lotta Camilla Teale. Made in the UK, this print is glazed, mounted and has a simple box frame in a matt finish, ready to hang on your wall. Lotta Camilla Teale paints figurative oil paintings and is inspired by early twentieth-century painters such as the Scottish Colourists and William Nicholson. For the last few years, she has lived between Islamabad, London, Bangkok and Tuscany, where her grandmother lived. Raised in London and attending St Paul's Girls' School and the University of Edinburgh, she trained as a barrister and worked for 14 years in law and development, living for many years in Sierra Leone and Pakistan. Having painted since she was young, in 2018 she started painting professionally and has developed a practice focusing on still lives and 'en plein air' works, with a particular interest in gardens and architecture. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings?
I love how the flower print combines soft, natural tones with a touch of painterly charm, making it versatile for both modern and more traditional interiors. It’s a great piece to add a gentle colour pop to neutral schemes, or to complement florally inspired décor. The framed print works well in living rooms, bedrooms, or even hallways, especially when paired with simple, understated furnishings that let the artwork stand out. For styling, consider placing it above a console table or sofa, and keep surrounding accessories minimal - perhaps a small vase or stack of books - to maintain its visual impact without overwhelming the space.
