Description

Design. The Mary Rose Nest of Tables has been handcrafted from recycled fishing boat timber, some of which dates back 150 years and still bears its natural imperfections and colourings. Filled with character, its reclaimed wood surface sits atop welded cast iron legs that add industrial edge to its rustic design. A set of three, these tables sit neatly beneath one another to provide a convenient space saving solution for your living room. Little Tree is a British company whose concept was born in India,. Our Stylist Says

I really like this set of nested tables because they’re both functional and versatile. The combination of the warm wood tops with the black metal frames gives it a slightly industrial yet timeless look, making it suitable for a variety of interiors - from contemporary to more rustic or eclectic spaces. These side tables work well in small living areas where you might need extra surface space, and they can be tucked away when not in use or clustered together for a layered effect. To style them effectively, I’d suggest pairing with cosy textiles like a plush throw or a statement lamp on top, and placing them beside a sofa or armchair to keep things practical yet stylish. They're a smart choice for anyone looking to add flexibility and character to their living room.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
