Description

Designed in 1969 by Achille Castiglioni, the Leonardo Writing Desk showcases a simple yet robust white laminate top, supported by two sets of beech wood trestles. Inspired by the style of trestle-top work tables that painters, artisans and designers have used for centuries, the Leonardo Writing Desk is elevated on a natural varnished, steam-treated beech wood base with adjustable height, all finished with a white plastic laminate surface that ensures easy upkeep. Manufactured by Italian leaders in industrial design, Zanotta, the Leonardo Writing Desk is showcased at museums the world over, including the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

Our Stylist Says

I love the simplicity and versatility of this desk; its combination of beech and white laminate makes it a neutral yet modern choice. It works well in both contemporary and Scandinavian-inspired interiors, adding a touch of warmth without overpowering a space. Practical styling tips include pairing it with sleek, minimal accessories such as a slim desk lamp or a small potted plant to keep the surface uncluttered. It also pairs nicely with upholstered chairs or even vintage pieces for a more eclectic look. Since the design is clean and functional, it’s ideal for multi-purpose spaces like home offices or craft rooms, where practicality meets understated style.
