The LBM table lamp from Mexican designer Moisés Hernández reflects his fascination with monolithic geometry, colour, light and shadows. While he has declared his inspiration from the innovative architecture created by his Mexican compatriot Luis Barragan, you'll also discern the influence of French creator Jean Prouvé and his 1930s desk lamp. The functional simplicity of the LBM lamp - A slim vertical steel sheet surface - Creates a visual lightness and strong design, which makes the lamp as attractive turned off as it is when illuminated. Its shape means that it can be positioned against a vertical surface. The dimmer switch means you can diffuse a softer light for a subtle and soothing ambiance, which enhances the colour of the body. Moisés Hernández has exhibited his work in the United States, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Turkey, Hong Kong, Spain and Mexico. His work has received the Biennale from the Mexican INBA design school, the Good Design Award by the Chicago Atheneaum, amongst other prizes.
