The Lantern lamp was designed by the Chinese Neri&Hu studio based in Shanghai. It is a tribute to the famous Lyndon floor lamp, designed by Vico Magistretti in 1977. Evocative of the old, late 19th century street lights, this light fixture consists of a minimalist brass base supporting a blown-glass globe, light as a bubble. A sober smoked grey glass envelope surrounds the light source, placing it centre stage. The internal diffuser, a white glass cylinder, sits proudly like a torch exhibited in a showcase.
This Lantern Table lamp is a sleek, statement piece that works beautifully in contemporary or minimalist interiors, adding a touch of sophistication with its grey and gold finish. I love how its clean lines and glass globe make it versatile enough to sit on a side table or a console, providing both ambient and task lighting. When styling, consider pairing it with neutral or monochrome palettes to highlight its metallic accents, or place it alongside natural materials like wood or stone for a balanced, modern look. Practical tips include positioning it away from high-traffic areas to prevent knock-overs and complementing it with other subtle gold accessories for a cohesive aesthetic. Its height makes it ideal for enhancing surface-focused setups in living rooms or bedrooms, adding a refined yet approachable feel.
