Depending on weather type, the wood can swell or dry, resulting in small cracks. The risk can be minimised by cleaning and/or treating the furniture at regular intervals and keeping it clean and dry Remove dust regularly with a clean, soft brush and wipe down with a clean, damp cloth Wipe spills immediately to prevent staining Use KETTLER wood aftercare treatment to keep the furniture maintained and looking its best Moving parts such as locking mechanisms, catches and joints need to be checked/lubricated where necessary During winter and wetter months, store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated location to prevent excessive shrinkage or expansion of the wood Consider a KETTLER tailored cover or use a universal breathable cover By choosing this product, you are supporting responsible management of the world's forests. Our Stylist Says

I often specify this folding bistro table for both indoor and outdoor schemes because its warm eucalyptus timber and clean lines suit contemporary Scandi flats, country-style kitchens or urban balconies alike. Its compact, lightweight design makes it ideal for small terraces or as a handy second surface in a conservatory. Styling-wise, keep it simple: a pair of woven chairs and a low-profile linen cushion for comfort, plus a small ceramic vase or herb pot centrepiece. To maintain the wood’s tone, give it a light oil treatment annually and stow it away when not in use to prolong lifespan.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
