A thought provoking design, the Masters Stool Large by Philippe Starck is a hybrid of three iconic chairs by legendary 20th century designers Arne Jacobsen, Eero Saarinen and Charles Eames. Exhibiting all the innovative construction and quirky features one expects from a Starck design, the branch like loops of this bar stool are reminiscent of classic Thonet bentwood chairs.

I’m a big fan of the Masters stool in mid-grey for its sculptural yet unassuming look - the interlaced back feels light in the space and the matt finish keeps things contemporary. It sits beautifully in a minimalist kitchen or a pared-back dining area, but also holds its own in industrial-style or Scandi interiors thanks to that neutral tone and sleek form.
For styling, line up two or three at a breakfast bar against a timber worktop to warm the grey or pair with slim-line metal pendants overhead. Pop on a small seat pad in a contrasting fabric if you want a touch of softness, and remember it’s lightweight enough to shift easily between indoors and a covered terrace whenever you fancy a change.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
