An evolution of iconic postmodern design, the Charles Ghost is based on the infamous Louis Ghost chair. Inspired by furniture of the 1800s, this glossy stool is the creation of superstar designer philippe Starck combining an eclectic mix of classical profile, modern form, and futuristic construction to give a contemporary twist to traditional seating.

I’d call this the Ghost bar stool - its transparent polycarbonate shell is ideal for keeping a kitchen or home bar feeling light and uncluttered, especially in smaller spaces where you don’t want heavyweight visuals. I love how it slots effortlessly into Scandi, contemporary or even industrial schemes, picking up accent colours from wall paint or pendant lighting without competing for attention.
Styling tips: cluster them around a streamlined island in groups of two or three for a balanced look, and add slim, removable seat pads in a contrasting hue for comfort and a pop of colour. Because the stool’s material wipes clean, it’s perfect for busy family kitchens or occasional entertaining areas.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
