Designed by Philippe Starck for Kartell, the Adam Wood Shelving system forms part of a collection of furniture produced using 'Smart Wood'. The Adam Wood bookshelf / shelving system uses an intelligent combination of steel struts onto which 'smart wood' shelves are mounted and can be positioned to a desired height.

I’m a fan of the Adam shelving system for its slim metal frame and solid dark-wood shelves - it feels both sturdy and unfussy. It slots effortlessly into industrial, Scandi or modern farmhouse schemes, especially when you want open storage without bulk.
Styling-wise, mix books with low-profile ceramics and woven baskets to break up the lines. Keep taller volumes on the lower tiers to counterbalance the metal uprights, and introduce a trailing plant or two for a touch of greenery.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.
