This hand knotted rug is crafted from sustainable Jute fibres, which is an incredibly durable and hardwearing material. Jute is made from a plant that grows in India where our rugs are made. Compared to other natural materials such as Sisal or Coir, Jute is soft under foot so you can walk comfortably on it without shoes, or sit on it. Its durable nature makes it suitable for high footfall areas. You don’t get any pilling on Jute rugs but you will see indentations on the rug where you have placed furniture on top. Hand knotted rugs are the best quality type of rug. They are literally hand crafted using a series of very dense knots. They are the most hard wearing rug, and are designed to last a lifetime. They have a slightly lower profile than a tufted rug, so better for places where the thickness is important. They are also more durable than tufted rugs for use in high footfall areas.
