Our Stylist Says

I love the clean, minimalist appeal of the jug ceramic vase, making it a versatile piece that suits both modern and more traditional interiors. Its simple white finish adds brightness without overwhelming the space, making it perfect for displaying fresh or dried flowers. This vase works especially well in light-filled kitchens, minimal living rooms, or even cosy bedroom corners. For styling tips, try pairing it with greenery or structural floral arrangements for a more contemporary look, or leave it empty as an understated sculpture. Its understated charm means it can be a focal point or a complementary accent depending on how you choose to style it.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
