Description

Designed by Swoon, made by us. With a shared commitment to exceptional design and quality, we've collaborated to create an exclusive furniture collection for the modern home. The Franklin chest provides generous storage space. Built from a combination of high-quality timbers including acacia wood, its five drawers will help to keep your bedroom clutter free. Designed using marquetry techniques to create a distinctive, geometric facade to showcase the variety of its natural wood grains. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chest for its rich, dark finish and mid-century inspired design, which makes it a versatile piece that can complement both contemporary and vintage interiors. Its compact size and practical drawers make it ideal for bedrooms, living rooms, or even hallways, providing ample storage without overwhelming the space. To style it, consider mixing modern accessories with softer textiles on top, like a ceramic lamp or a small plant, to add visual interest. It works particularly well in interiors that embrace natural wood tones or a darker colour palette, and pairing it with lighter walls can help to prevent the piece from feeling too heavy. Overall, it’s a practical yet stylish addition that can anchor a room’s aesthetic while offering valuable storage.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
