Description

Our in-house designers used natural materials and clever craftsmanship to create this dining chair, which celebrates Scandinavian-inspired design. With a steam-bent, curved backrest and sleek, linear frame, its minimalist shape will help to enhance a relaxed style in your space. The cord seat is hand-woven from almost 190 metres of twisted paper cord for comfortable support. A lacquered coating ensures a durable and high-quality finish. The Black option is made from beech wood while the Natural option is made from ash wood. The Green and Red options have ash wood frames and beech plywood backrests. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its simple, Scandinavian-inspired design that combines functionality with a clean aesthetic. It works particularly well in modern, minimalist or coastal interiors, where its sleek lines and natural wood detail add a subtle warmth. For styling tips, consider pairing it with a wooden or neutral-toned dining table to highlight its natural materials, or mix with colourful tableware and textiles for an eclectic look. Practical tips include using it in multi-purpose spaces; its straightforward design makes it versatile enough for both dining and as a statement side chair in other rooms. Its understated elegance and durable construction make it a timeless choice for casual luxury.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
