Price History

Description

Our Oscar wall light brings a mid-century modern look to your space. For symmetrical design, pair two of these sconces on either side of beds, fireplaces or mirrors or place individually in entryways or other spaces for a pop of light. The lamp features a 5-inch diameter (12.5cm) metal base supporting an upwardly arcing antique brass stem. The metal cone-shaped shade is ringed with holes to add unique lighting patterns to your room. While the stem is fixed, the base of the shade features an articulation point, allowing you to rotate the shade up or down and side to side to direct the light wherever it's needed. The wall lamp requires a 10W LED bulb or is compatible with dimmable LED bulbs for added versatility.

Our Stylist Says

I love this wall light because of its sleek, contemporary design that adds a touch of elegance to any space. Its brushed brass finish makes it a versatile choice, working particularly well in modern or minimalist interiors, but it can also elevate a more eclectic room. Practical styling tips include placing it beside a mirror or above a console table for functional, ambient lighting, or using it in bedrooms or living rooms to create a warm, inviting glow. Its balanced proportions ensure it doesn’t overpower other design elements, making it a stylish yet functional addition to various interiors.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
