Description

With a subtly textured design, our Border Rug is created from 100% wool, offering the perfect blend of softness and strength. This rug is loomed by hand, a traditional shuttle process in which material is laced together to create a strong and durable weave. The benefits of a wool rug Warm and durable, wool feels beautifully soft underfoot and is long-lasting Naturally flame-retardant and odour resistant Water repellent so easier to clean Naturally biodegradable, wool is part of the circular economy and contains no micro plastics About your new rug We recommend John Lewis & Partners Rug Hold Underlay. It prevents your rug from moving underfoot and protects against colour transfer to the floor As this rug is made using natural fibres, shedding is to be expected as this is a natural characteristic of wool. This will decrease over time if care instructions are followed accordingly and shouldn't affect your rug's lifespan or performance. When you first get your rug, please use the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner whilst the shedding dies down. After that, when vacuuming your rug, use suction only. Rotating brushes may damage the fibres. Blot any spills with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub or use harsh detergents. Latex backed therefore not suitable for underfloor heating. Specialist cleaning recommended. Attend to spillages immediately and blot with a clean, dry cloth to prevent staining. Dilute a small amount of appropriate carpet shampoo in water. Dampen a colourfast cloth in the diluted shampoo solution and dab the rug, lightly agitating, moving in the direction of the pile. Treat the whole rug and not just the affected area. To restore the appearance of the affected area, use a soft bristled brush to gently comb in the direction of the pile. Allow the rug to thoroughly dry. With great prices and great design, our new brand offers style and quality for modern living today. Whatever you need, there's joy to be found in ANYDAY.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this one for its versatility and understated style. The Border Wool Rug’s neutral tone and simple design make it a great foundation for both contemporary and traditional interiors. It works particularly well in living rooms and bedrooms where you want a soft, cosy look without overwhelming the space. Practical styling tips include pairing it with textured cushions or throws for added comfort, and placing it near seating areas to delineate zones. Its wool composition offers durability and warmth, making it a good choice for high-traffic areas, while its clean design keeps it feeling fresh and modern. Overall, it’s a practical yet stylish addition that can easily adapt to different colour schemes and decorating styles.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
