Beautifully handcrafted by Vispring, the Dartington divan bed is luxuriously comfortable. The mattress is generously filled with soft, all-natural materials including Platinum Certified British fleece wool and cotton. Within are two layers of Vispring’s famous 6 turn vanadium steel springs offering responsive support. The mattress rests on a solid timber sprung base, upholstered in a wide choice of fine upholstery. Headboard is an optional extra. Offering a cosy traditional feel, the Vispring Dartington divan set promises soothing, body-conforming comfort. This handcrafted bed comprises a 21 cm mattress with, in king size, 1558 vanadium steel pocket springs, each with six coils, that are hand-nested in calico and layered with springy and resilient fillings – bonded British fleece wool and cotton, British fleece wool, and blended British fleece wool and cotton. Covered in a fine soft ticking and hand tufted with felt washers, this mattress has wool-upholstered borders with two rows of hand side stitching, horizontal handles and air vents. It rests on a solid timber divan base with 950 pocket springs in king size and is filled with coir and blended British fleece wool and cotton. Product images are representative. Find out more. Please note. The mattress should be aired for four hours after delivery to freshen and remove any aroma from storage. It may take time for your mattress to attain its full size once the springs have settled to the correct position. This is due to the mattress being upright during transit. Settlement of fillings and indentations caused by body weight compressing the fillings are natural and not considered defects. This can be minimised by regular rotating (unless yours is a dual tension mattress).
