This ceramic vase, made in Portugal, features bright stripes, a rounded shape and a contemporary design. Ideal to enhance a floral arrangement or to display on its own. Quality • In the heart of Portugal, the birthplace of family-run ceramics businesses, ceramics are created with passion, crafted with the utmost care. And this has been the case for generations, since 1886. • The stoneware used in these ceramics comes from high-quality clay, harvested in the region and worked by hand. The glazes, the fruit of lengthy research, are created from raw, natural materials. • Hand-crafted by these inspired ceramists no less, each piece is unique, original and exclusive. • This technique involves the application of different enamels and oxides: Following a first firing, the craftsmen apply metal oxides to the pottery to create the desired effect. The pieces are then covered with an enamel glaze of a different colour, to bring out the metal flecking effect. The colour and rendering of the enamel is therefore dependent on the temperature of firing, baking time, the thickness of the enamel and how it is applied.
