70 years after the launch of the first FDB furniture Hay is now taking on production of quite a few of the classic pieces. Functional and democratic design for the people was the thought behind the furniture production FDB started in the 1940's. The FDB collection from Hay consists of 5 chairs designed by Poul M. Volther, Jorgen Baekmark and Folke Paalsson as well as a table designed by Jorgen Baekmark.
I love the J104 Chair - Wood for its clean, minimalist design that adds warmth and natural charm to any dining space. Its light timber finish makes it a versatile choice, effortlessly blending into Scandi, minimalist, or even rustic interiors. It works especially well in versatile kitchens or open-plan dining rooms where simplicity and functionality are key. Practical styling tips include pairing it with a textured or colourful table cover to add personality, or stacking a few when not in use for a sleek, uncluttered look. Its understated elegance makes it suitable for both everyday dining and more relaxed formal settings.
