A stylised interpretation of the industrial strip lights commonly found in French nuclear power stations, designers Dominique Perrault and Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost have developed a decorative and highly flexible wall or ceiling light from their industrial stimulus. The class tube, crafted from hardy borosilicate glass by DCW éditions, houses LED filament bulbs. With an IP64 rating, the light has stainless steel mountings and aluminium stoppers sealed with silicone, making it entirely water and weather proof, perfect for use inside and out. To control the colour of light, the reflector and mesh are configurable with a choice of silver, copper, or gold reflector finishes. With gold emitting a warm glow and silver emitting a cooler light. The options of a silver or gold mesh that sits around each bulb will further diffuse the light. An optional single cord suspension kit allows the light to be hung vertically, or the option of a double cord suspension kit allows the light to be hung horizontally, while a slanted collar kit option enables it to be wall mounted at an angle. With a connection box to protect the wiring from water and humidity, the In The Tube Light will bring a refined industrial aesthetic to any exterior. ITT 100-500 model requires: 2 x Max 11W E14 bulbs (not included)
I love this wall light for its blend of contemporary design and practicality. The In The Tube fixture's sleek gold reflector and mesh detail add a touch of luxury, making it ideal for modern outdoor settings or even stylish indoor spaces with an industrial twist. Its IP64 rating ensures it’s suitable for outdoor use, illuminating patios, terraces, or garden walkways effectively. For styling, I recommend pairing it with other warm-toned lighting or metallic accents to create a cohesive look, and positioning it alongside textured surfaces like bricks or stone for added visual interest. It works well in contemporary or minimalist schemes, but can also add an unexpected touch to eclectic or vintage-inspired exteriors. Practical tip: install it at eye level or slightly above to maximise its lighting effect and create welcoming ambient glow.
