Crafted from solid white pine, this two-tier design allows your child to slumber safely up high, whilst the versatile under-bed area can be utilised as a chill-out zone or play space. Slats also feature at the bottom of the design, allowing the area to safely contain a mattress for another sleepyhead if need be.

The bright white finish suits Scandinavian, contemporary or coastal schemes, and you can anchor it with soft greys or pastel bedding to keep the look fresh. For styling, slip in storage boxes or a narrow shelving unit underneath to make the most of the space, then layer in patterned throws and a couple of playful cushions. If you’d like a cosy vibe, drape lightweight fairy lights along the top rail and add a simple wall hook nearby for hats or backpacks.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
