I’m a fan of the Lars desk for its clean-lined, mid-century proportions and the contrast between the warm walnut legs and soft-grey top. Its slim footprint makes it ideal for contemporary city flats, Scandinavian-inspired studies or even a pared-back home office.
Styling-wise, keep the look uncluttered: a slim brass or black task lamp, a neutral wool desk pad and a tidy wooden tray for stationery. Tuck cables away with discreet clips and finish with a small pot plant or a simple framed print above to add personality without overwhelming the desk’s crisp geometry.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.
