Description

With this customisable collection, think of yourself as artistic director, as we put the power of design in your hands. Using the Berlin Table as your base, we give you the unique opportunity to craft the perfect platform, whether for dining with great friends or relaxing with a good book. All are made from solid wood that’s built to last and are inspired by the style of their namesake city. Think clean and minimalist lines with a distinct industrial aesthetic. But that’s where the similarities between each Berlin Table ends. Because they come in a beautifully different selection of oiled finishes and various sizes to suit all tastes and spaces. It’s all up to you. Meaning a bespoke piece that’s uniquely yours.

Our Stylist Says

I love this table for its clean lines and versatile appeal. The smoked oak top with chamfered edges adds subtle sophistication, while the black legs bring a contemporary edge. It works particularly well in modern and minimalist interiors, but can also sit comfortably in a Scandinavian or urban eclectic scheme. For styling, consider pairing it with statement chairs in contrasting materials like leather or upholstered fabrics to create visual interest. Practical tips include layering with a simple runner or placemats for everyday dining, and adding a few decorative accessories like vases or candles for a more polished look when entertaining. Its size makes it ideal for open-plan living spaces or larger dining rooms, providing a refined focal point that balances functionality and style.

About Heal's

Founded in 1810, Heal's are an iconic brand with a history of innovation, and are synonymous with timeless elegance and exceptional design.

A Rich Legacy in Furniture Design

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.

By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.

Influences and Design Philosophy

A significant part of Heal's story is Sir Ambrose Heal, who worked there for 60 years, from 1893 to 1953. He had a unique idea combine the beautiful designs from the Arts and Crafts Movement with affordable manufacturing.

This meant more people could buy well-designed furniture without breaking the bank. If you visit the Heal's store on Tottenham Court Road in London, you'll see a cool spiral staircase and a statue of a bronze cat, both of which show off the company's unique style.

Modern Expansion and Growth

While Heal's has a long history, they're always looking forward. In 2001, a company named Wittington Investments bought Heal's, helping it to grow and open stores in many cities, including Manchester and Leeds.

They've also started selling products online, aiming to be a modern e-commerce store with physical showrooms. Their main Tottenham Court Road store celebrated 200 years in 2018. Recently, they revamped it, making it even better for shoppers.
