Description

Design. Rattan furniture is back in a big way – and the Hague coffee table in black oak lets you introduce a little to your home with ease. This stunning coffee table features two drawers for clearing away clutter, whose fronts and backs are detailed with delicate handwoven wicker. Set within a stained black wooden frame, these otherwise subtle design elements will stand out beautifully in any living room scheme. Functional as well as fabulous, the coffee table contains two open shelves for housing magazines, remote controls and more. Also available in. Natural. For a more bohemian look.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Hague coffee table for its sleek, modern silhouette and versatile black wood finish, which makes it a great focal point in a range of interiors. It pairs particularly well with contemporary spaces that embrace minimalism, but can also add a sophisticated touch to Scandi or eclectic styles. When styling, consider layering with textured textiles like a soft throw or a woven tray, and add a few decorative items such as candles or small vases to create visual interest. Practical tip: utilise the open shelves for books or magazines, keeping the top surface clear for daily essentials or stylish accents. Its clean lines and functional design make it a chic yet practical centrepiece for any living room.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
