Description

Fresh, clean and contemporary - that's the Habitat Skandi collection to a tee. With its striking good looks, the sturdy Skandi will create a lounge that is both functional and fabulous. This large open unit offers heaps of storage space. The open shelving allows you to display your favourite trinkets. It also keeps those bits and pieces you want to hand; maybe your latest read or your diary. Three of the shelves are adjustable, so you can set it up as you please. Swish Skandi.

Our Stylist Says

I love this tall shelf for its clean, minimalist look that works well in a variety of interiors, from Scandi to contemporary spaces. The grey finish is versatile and easy to pair with different colour schemes, while the wood accents add warmth and texture. It's practical for organising books, decorative objects, or everyday essentials without feeling cluttered. For styling, consider grouping similar items together for a cohesive look, and mix heights and objects to create visual interest. It’s perfect in living rooms, home offices, or bedrooms, especially when balanced with soft textiles and neutral tones for a calm, orderly vibe. The wide design also offers flexibility for larger decorative pieces or multiple smaller items.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
