Description

Boho is back. It's easy to fall for our vintage 3-shelf bookcase. Made in natural rattan with a golden blond finish it's perfect to pile high with books, potted plants and items you love. Big enough to make a statement, small enough to move around. It's one of those go anywhere pieces you can rehome from bedroom to bathroom, living room to hall. Whenever you want a revamp, move it to another room.

Our Stylist Says

I love the look of this Habitat rattan shelf-its natural finish and wide, short design make it a versatile piece for a variety of interiors. It works particularly well in laid-back, boho, or coastal styles, adding warmth and texture to the space. Practical styling tips include using it to display a mix of books, plants, and decorative objects, allowing the open shelving to keep an airy feel. Pairing it with soft textiles and neutral tones can further emphasise its relaxed charm, while a few colourful accents can give it a little personality if desired. Its sturdy yet lightweight structure also makes it easy to reposition, offering both function and style in one statement piece.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
