Description

Simple, industrial style at its best, our Nomad desk combines a rustic oak effect finish with striking black textured metal legs. An ideal companion for at-home working, this space-saving desk features 2 practical storage shelves and a simple silhouette that slots in anywhere. Add it to your home office, bedroom, or lounge setting.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Habitat Nomad open storage desk for its practical yet minimal design, making it versatile for both home offices and contemporary workspaces. The oak top adds warmth and texture, which pairs beautifully with modern, industrial, or Scandinavian interiors. Its open shelving not only offers functional storage but also encourages a clutter-free workspace, perfect for displaying organisation essentials or decorative pieces. For styling, try keeping the surface clear with only a few essential items and use the shelves for plants, books, or baskets to add visual interest. This piece works particularly well in spaces that favour clean lines and natural materials, helping create a balanced and inviting atmosphere.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
