Our Stylist Says

I love this bunk bed for its practicality and versatile design, making it ideal for modern shared bedrooms or smaller spaces. The Habitat hairdo is a great choice for a contemporary interior; its sleek lines and black-and-red colour scheme lend themselves well to both boy- and girl-friendly rooms. It works particularly well in interiors with a minimal, urban vibe or Scandinavian style, thanks to its clean construction and functional layout. Practical styling tips include adding colourful or patterned bedding for a pop of personality, and incorporating wall-mounted shelves or organisers to keep clutter off the desk area. To make the most of the space, consider using under-bed storage solutions for toys or clothing, and pairing it with neutral, light-coloured walls to keep the room feeling fresh and open.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
