Description

The great divide. The distinctive design of this solid wood bookcase is fresh and contemporary. The feature offset dividers are aesthetically pleasing. The oak finish shows off the beauty of the wood grain for a warm natural vibe. Not just a bookcase, it's a showcase as well. Embrace your eye for design. Have fun putting just the right object in the right space. Stand back and admire. Designed to be versatile, this is a showstopper in the living room, a real advantage in the study or WFH area, and invaluable in a nursery.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this tall and wide bookcase - it offers both practical storage and a clean, Scandinavian-inspired look thanks to its oak finish. It works well in modern, minimalist interiors, but also adds warmth to more traditional spaces. For styling, I’d suggest keeping the top clean for a few decorative objects or plants, while using baskets or bookends on the larger shelves to keep things organised. It’s versatile enough to be a focal point in a living room or home office, and because of its size, it’s perfect for balancing larger furniture pieces. Pairing it with neutral tones or contrasting darker accents can really make it stand out and define the space.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
