I’m a fan of the Decortie open-oak shelving unit for its clean lines and staggered square compartments - it brings a sense of order without feeling rigid. The light oak finish works particularly well in Scandi-inspired, coastal or contemporary loft spaces, where its simple geometry and natural tone can sit alongside neutral walls or contrast darker accents.
For styling, mix books laid flat with small potted plants and ceramics to break up repetition. Use odd numbers of decorative objects and vary heights by stacking volumes or adding taller vases. Keep larger items towards the lower shelves for stability and eye-line balance, and leave a few cubes empty to let the room breathe.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
