Price History

Description

With clean lines and sumptuous proportions, it's no surprise our Hendricks sofa is a bestseller. Inspired by mid-century design and created in the Habitat design studio. Made in Italy, this sofa is upholstered in our Alba fabric - Perfect for busy homes, this 100% polyester fabric is soft yet extremely hardwearing with an easy-care finish to aid the removal of water-based stains. Removable frame covers ensure easy cleaning, although we do recommend professional cleaning to avoid colour variation.

Our Stylist Says

I love this L-shaped couch for its contemporary look and versatile feel. Its rich blue fabric adds a pop of colour that works well in modern or Scandinavian-inspired interiors, and it can ground a neutral scheme beautifully. This sofa is ideal for open-plan living spaces or family rooms where comfort and practicality are key. To style it, consider layering around it with textured cushions and throws in complementary shades like grey, white, or even warm tones for contrast. It also pairs well with minimalist coffee tables or bold statement rugs to create a cohesive, lived-in look that’s both functional and stylish.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
