Description

Our ceiling shade really cuts the mustard. With classic looks and a large check design our drum lightshade turns white light into a nice warm glow as it diffuses through the shade while still throwing out plenty of light to see by. It's cosy, it's bright and full of character. Easy to pop on to a standard fitting for an instant transformation.

Our Stylist Says

I love this mustard check print shade for its bold, retro vibe that can really lift a room. It works particularly well in eclectic, vintage-inspired interiors or as a statement piece in more minimal schemes by adding colour and pattern without overwhelming the space. When styling, consider pairing it with warm earthy tones or contrasting cool colours to make it pop. Practical tips include placing it in a living room or bedroom to create a cosy, inviting atmosphere, and ensuring the bulb wattage complements the shade’s autumnal hue so the colour remains vibrant. It’s a versatile choice that adds personality while maintaining a chic, curated look.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
