Description

The Cato grey side table with storage and solid wood legs is a versatile design, equally at home next to a sofa or beside a bed. Made from gloss-lacquered wood with rubberwood legs, the table is strong and hard-wearing, and its shelf provides storage for books, magazines and remote controls. Designed in house and exclusive to Habitat, the side table is part of the Cato range, which includes side tables, desks and characterful dressing tables in a choice of colours.

Our Stylist Says

The Habitat Cato side table in grey is a versatile piece that works well in both modern and minimalist interiors thanks to its clean lines and neutral colour. I love how its simple design allows it to blend seamlessly alongside sofas or beds, adding function without visual clutter. Practical styling tips include placing a reading lamp or a small collection of favourite books on top, while using the open shelf for extra storage of essentials like remote controls or coasters. Its natural wooden legs introduce a touch of warmth, making it adaptable for cosy living rooms or even bedrooms, and it pairs nicely with both light and darker colour schemes. Overall, it's a sleek, understated addition that can help organise and personalise a space effortlessly.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
