The Bestlite BL4 floor lamp was designed by Robert Dudley Best in the 1930s, with inspiration taken from the iconic Bauhaus era. The lamp is a real design classic in its own right and can be found in permanent collections at both the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London. The lamp arm can be tilted 90 degrees, both horizontally and vertically, and the lamp shade can be rotated 360 degrees. Simply, design at its best – with Winston Churchill amongst its many enthusiasts.
The Gubi Bestlite BL4 floor lamp is a versatile choice that blends iconic design with practicality, making it ideal for both contemporary and classic interiors. I love how its matte white finish paired with brass accents adds a touch of understated sophistication, effortlessly elevating a reading nook, lounge, or home office. Its adjustable arm and head make it super flexible for task lighting, while the slim profile ensures it doesn’t overpower smaller spaces. For styling tips, consider placing it next to a cosy armchair or a minimalist sideboard - it works beautifully in neutral, monochrome, or even colour-blocked schemes, adding both function and style with its timeless look.
