Cascaded from a centuries old tribe of North Africa’s region called Marrakesh, these Hand knotted Woolen Berber Style rugs are woven in “Kamalia” a small town, but rich with cottage industry, from worldly renowned Punjab region of Pakistan. These tribal designs rugs are made with a combination of three exclusive Woolen yarns, created especially to attain this quality. The supreme quality wool gives it better durability and substantially less shedding. Using the traditional weaving techniques, these 100% wool rugs are of 4/4 knot count quality. In 1sqm of these Berber rugs there would be around 640 + knots. This rug has been knotted by hand, the oldest and most individual way a rug can be made. This involves an intricate process of weaving by hand on a loom where yarns are tied one at a time, giving the rug a durable construction. About your new rug We recommend John Lewis & Partners Rug Hold Underlay. It prevents your rug from moving underfoot and protects against colour transfer to the floor Natural fibres may shed. This will reduce over time, and should not affect the lifespan or performance of your rug When vacuuming your rug, use suction only. I love this Sitara Berber rug for its striking blue hues and traditional hand-knotted craftsmanship, which adds both texture and warmth to a space. It works particularly well in neutral or muted interiors, offering a splash of colour without overwhelming. It’s versatile enough for living rooms, bedrooms, or even hallways, bringing a touch of global eclecticism. Practical styling tips include layering it with larger, plain rugs for added dimension or anchoring a seating area with it to create a cosy, inviting vibe. Pair it with natural fibres or warm wood tones to enhance its artisanal appeal and ensure it becomes a focal point in the room.
