The matt-black finish adds a subtle edge without overwhelming a space, and its compact footprint makes it ideal for living rooms, home offices or even hallways.
Styling-wise, mix books with decorative boxes or woven baskets to hide clutter on lower shelves, then display ceramics or framed photos up top. Leave a little negative space around objects for a balanced look, and introduce a dash of greenery to soften the dark tone.
