I’m a fan of this black Barcelona shelf for its clean lines and sturdy build - it slots straight into both contemporary and Scandi-inspired schemes. Its slim profile makes it ideal for narrow alcoves or flanking a fireplace, and the matt black finish provides a bold contrast against pale walls or timber floors.
When styling, alternate stacks of books with decorative objects to avoid a cluttered look, and leave a little breathing space on each shelf. Introduce woven baskets on the lower tier for concealed storage, and finish with a trailing plant or two to soften the rigid geometry.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
