Description
Honouring the legacy of Eero Saarinen's legendary Tulip Round Dining Table for Knoll, The Conran Shop proudly premieres the exclusive, limited-edition Sequoia finish. Cut from extraordinary Sequoia granite in Brazil, the natural stone's fusion of brown, black and white hues presents mesmerising striations like those of a canyon. Its dynamic, wide veining is only enhanced with a diamond polish, a meticulous nine-step process which helps remove light and superficial scratching as well as minor etching. Unpretentious and elegant, the Tulip Table was unveiled in 1957 following a five-year investigation at Florence Knoll's behest. Fulfilling Saarinen's goal of providing an antithesis to the typical support structures found under traditional tables and chairs of the day, its sweeping silhouette was quick to become a pinnacle of mid-century design. Please note: Albeit polished, the table must be swiftly cleaned with water and an absorbent cloth after spillages, to prevent any surface damage.
