Description

Design. This spacious oak sideboard has two generously sized storage cupboards offering plenty of storage space. Four large drawers sit between the two cupboards providing additional room for storage. Curved recessed drawer and door handles are both wonderfully tactile and simply elegant. It also features the signature Bosco curved finger joints on the top corners of the cabinet and finger joint details on all of the drawer fronts.

Our Stylist Says

I love this sideboard for its timeless oak finish and versatile design, making it suitable for a range of interiors from contemporary to Scandi-inspired schemes. Its generous storage and clean lines help keep spaces clutter-free, while the natural wood adds warmth and texture. It works particularly well in living rooms or dining areas, where it can be styled with minimalistic tableware, decorative vases, or picture frames on top. For practical styling tips, consider pairing it with muted or earthy tones to emphasise the wood’s natural beauty, and don’t be afraid to mix in some metal or ceramic accessories for added interest. Its understated elegance makes it a go-to piece for both practical storage and aesthetic appeal.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
