Price History

Description

The Audley End 6 Light Tole Chandelier, finished in hand-applied gold leaf and decorative cut crystal, weaving through the intricate branches of the design. When creating a truly luxurious chandelier, English Heritage designers drew inspiration from the delicately carved and gilded state bed in the Howard Suite of Audley End House, a seventeenth-century country house outside Saffron Walden, Essex. The Audley End 6 Light Tole chandelier is the perfect centrepiece in a bedroom, lounge, or anywhere you want to add more than a touch of traditional elegance. With two meters of chain and cable, the height can be adjusted on installation to suit most rooms. If ceiling height is an issue, the brand has also designed a matching semi-flush ceiling light. Part of the English Heritage lighting collection, inspired by Great British houses and gardens.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chandelier for its classic yet versatile aesthetic, making it a striking focal point in a range of interiors. The gold finish adds a touch of luxe, ideal for traditional or vintage-inspired spaces, but it can also work well in more eclectic or contemporary schemes when paired with complementary metals or rich textures. It’s particularly well-suited to high-ceilinged rooms such as dining areas or grand hallways, where its six lights provide both style and ample illumination. For styling tips, consider pairing it with soft, neutral tones to let the gold shine, or with bold, jewel hues for a more opulent look. Layering with additional lighting fixtures like wall sconces or table lamps can create a warm, inviting atmosphere while highlighting its intricate design.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
