Made from mango wood with brass plated legs and handles, this unit comes with two handy drawers to keep books, glasses and other essentials close to hand and would look great with one placed on either side of the bed. I’m a big fan of the Capitan bedside for its hand-carved front panels and warm walnut finish, which add texture without overwhelming a scheme. The slim brass base and handles give it a refined edge, making it equally at home in mid-century modern or contemporary settings.
To style it, keep the top clear of clutter with just a small table lamp and a potted succulent or ceramic vase. Inside the two drawers you’ll find plenty of room for books, chargers and bedtime essentials, so the surface stays tidy. Pair it with neutral bedding and a wool rug to let the timber grain stand out.
