Description

A twist on strict geometry. Our flatweave rug combines grey, beige and cream lines in a striking pattern that's softened with occasional scalloped shapes. Made from hardwearing natural fabrics, it's neutral and timeless. Lightweight and with a low profile, this floor covering is easy to move wherever the mood takes you. Hand made. Made in India. 72% cotton, 28% jute. Spot clean only. Size L170, W120cm. 5.6kg. Beige Scallop Stripes design.

Our Stylist Says

I love this rug for its clean, understated look and versatile colours, making it easy to incorporate into a variety of interiors. Its scalloped stripe design adds subtle texture without overwhelming the space, and the beige tones keep it neutral and warm. The flatweave construction is practical for high-traffic areas, easy to clean, and lightweight enough to move around. It works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist schemes, but can also soften a more traditional setting. For styling tips, consider layering with other textures like a thrown blanket or textured cushions, and place it under a coffee table or in a hallway for a pop of pattern and colour.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
